Midas Touch

I recently tried Dogfish Head's Midas Touch, which is a pretty unique "ale". The ingredients were determined based on residues found on bowls from Egyptian tombs. Saffron, White Muskat Grapes, Honey to name a few. This is "beer" (without hops, I think this falls under fermented malt beverage) bridges the gap between beer and sparkling wine. Very unusual, but recommended, at least in small doses.

Dogfish Head Midas Touch? Where do you get these things?

Ancient Egyptian beer - maybe I should share this with my world civ classes. But old King Midas lived in Anatolia in a kingdom named Phrygia. Why didn't they call it something like Tut's Scut, or Cleo's Nose (that last playing on your sparkly wine comparison).

I think Anchor Steam once made some ancient Sumerian beer based on a clay tablet recipe.

That could be (Dogfish Head has done this with a Chinese beer also)

Anchor Steam is a really good beer though.
